Looking for an apartment for the first time?  As an apartment management company it is our specialty so let us guide you thru this process.  Things you need to know before you can get an apartment is that you need to apply and qualify for renting.  Application fees normally runs you from $25 to $50 per applicant.  Since this is your first time applying for an apartment the property management company will be focusing on your employment history, salary-to-rent ratio, criminal background and your credit score.  Upon visiting to the apartment property try to be honest with the property manager since they can pre-qualify you and save on your application fees because in most cases they are non-refundable. 

 On your first visit to the property observe and ask questions to the property manager.  They will be happy to help you on getting your first apartment unit.  And if you just love the apartment don't hesitate on putting down a security deposit to hold that apartment for you.  Once all the application is processed(24 to 72 hours process)and you are qualified the next step would be scheduling for a move-in.  Now if you don't qualify because of your rent-to-income or your credit history, an additional security deposit will be required or a guarantor will be needed in order to get approved with the application process.  I bet at this time you are pretty excited to move-in to your new apartment home.  Don't get too excited because their are still things to do before you can relax.  Check out our moving checklist for it is very helpful and guide you on what needs to be done.  Good luck on your move-in and enjoy your new apartment home.
